From The Classifieds: Ford Performance Vehicles GT F FG MK II 351

Owner Dick Johnson has decided to sell his very own GT F – and the successful buyer will receive a 'Dick Johnson VIP Surprise' as a bonus

From The Classifieds: Ford Performance Vehicles GT F FG MK II 351

They don’t come any more special than this 2014 FPV Falcon GT F that is up for sale in Queensland.

Why so special?

Well, the Winter White Ford GT F is currently the property of one Dick Johnson. The Dick Johnson. He has decided to part with the car because, in his words “things have changed in the DJR world recently.”

The buyer will be the beneficiary of the car described by the man himself as the “best car” Ford Australia has ever produced – If not the “best car ever built in Australia.”

That’s pretty much what you’d expect of a man who has been involved with the company “for decades” but it’s an argument that will possibly survive longer than the vehicle itself.

Certainly it has proved its performance. Late last year, Johnson and his mate John Bowe took GT F build number 17 to Alice Springs for a speed trial and set a new Australian record for a production car in the process, with a recorded top speed of 297km/h.

Let’s hand over to the legendary Dick Johnson to discuss what’s so special about this particular car, what he had originally planned for it and why he’s decided to sell it: “Here's your chance to own a very special GTF, it's Australia's fastest four-door production car! This is my GTF. I recently took GTF Build No 17 to Alice Springs with my buddy John Bowe and we ran a speed trial and we set a new Australian record for a production car, the fastest ever at 297km/h.

“I've been involved with Ford for decades - this is the best car they've ever produced. In fact I think it's the best car ever build in Australia! It was my intention to hold my GTF for my grandkids... things have changed in the DJR world recently so with the new horizon upon us I've decided I'll sell GTF No 275.

“This is a remarkable car and I can assure you I know their capabilities – you might recall I helped the NSW Police with a few go-faster bits for their GTF... that one finished up as fast as a V8 Supercar!

“I'm happy to help the owner of this GTF in any manner he/she would like. We (at DJR) can personalise the vehicle in our workshop with badges or CNC machining you require, it's totally up to you. You might just want a few photos with your car.

“As you can see from the pics, I've retained all the stickers as it arrived from the factory; it even has the plastic on the seat. This is a genuine car for a collector and sadly, we'll never see another one like it.

“For the buyer, I have a very special 'Dick Johnson VIP Surprise' ... that will only be shared with the new owner when they take delivery. Cheers, Dick.”

According to Dick, the vehicle is “priced to sell at offers above $150,000.” He also mentions it is not registered, meaning the successful buyer will be the first owner to be recorded in the books.

Undoubtedly this GT F’s credentials are unquestioned. Dick suggests that anyone who wishes to express interest should speak to ‘Hammo’ via Dick Johnson Racing.
