F1 star Eddie Jordan rumoured to be joining Top Gear

British press reporting former F1 team-owner will be announced as third presenter in days

The Radio Times magazine is reporting that the BBC will soon announce that Eddie Jordan will join Matt LeBlanc in Chris Evans' reboot of Top Gear in May.

The deal to recruit the former team owner and Formula 1 commentator is now said to be a “formality” by sources close to the BBC car show.

As well as Jordan, YouTube star Chris Harris and German racer Sabine Schmitz will also feature as semi-regular presenters, according to the TV magazine.

Originally, former F1 racer David Coulthard was in the frame to join Evans and LeBlanc but, according to a Top Gear source, was made an “offer he couldn’t refuse” by British TV station Channel 4 to commentate on the 2016 F1 season.
