Hyundai has announced that Alexander Selipanov has moved from the Volkswagen Group to become the chief designer of its luxury Genesis brand.
Selipanov, 33, will begin working for the Korean car-maker this January.
The Russian has been credited with penning both the Bugatti Vision GT concept and the Chiron hypercar's exterior.
Before working for the French hypercar maker Selpanov worked for Lamborghini, where he was part of the team that led to the creation of the Huracan.
Despite his credentials the supercar designer won't have complete free-reign at Genesis as the Russian will report directly to the overall head of Genesis design, Luc Donckerwolke.
Donckerwolke, who also worked for Lamborghini, quit his role of Bentley design chief back in June 2015 and likely to replace Hyundai and Kia's current design boss, Peter Schreyer, when he retires sometime in 2017.
Genesis was launched in 2015 to help the Korean car-maker compete on a level-footing with BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Audi.
Hyundai has already announced that it plans to launch the premium Genesis brand in Australia from 2017 but said its expansion Down Under will be slow and steady.
The brand already has a partial presence, in the form of the slow-selling Hyundai Genesis sedan that's set to be facelifted and renamed the G80 as part of the brand's launch. The first new model to join the G80 will be the BMW 3 Series-rivalling G70 towards the end of 2017.
