Tesla is set to face more fresh European competition with the launch of an all-new German-built pure-electric sedan at next month's Geneva motor show.
Called the Elextra, the new four-door, four-seat, all-wheel drive sedan is said to have been created to "redefine the supercar".
That's why, despite only being a concept, its makers claim that when it reaches production it will reach 100km/h in less than 2.3 seconds.
Said to have been designed in Switzerland and manufactured in Germany, Elextra's owners, Swiss designer Robert Palm and Danish entrepreneur Paul Sohl, have announced they plan to make just 100 versions of the pure-electric supercar.
According to designer Palm: "The idea behind Elextra is to combine the pure lines reminiscent of the most exciting Italian supercars of the past with today's most advanced technology".
Elextra says it hopes to become one of the world's leading companies specialising in high quality, low-volume car manufacturing.
It hopes the pure-electric supercar concept that it will launch at the Geneva motor show will attract wealthy investors to help realise its dream.
