Singaporean pure-electric car and light truck maker, Vanda Electronics, has unveiled a radical new concept it has developed with Williams Advanced Engineering.
Called the Dendrobium, the new pure-electric concept has been created to be south-east Asia's first hypercar.
Said to have automatic roof and doors that can open in one synchronised movement, the design of the new model is claimed to be inspired by the dendrobium orchids flower that is native to Singapore.
Featuring a tear drop shaped-body, the pure-electric hypercar incorporates advanced aerodynamics that include an F1-inspired rear double diffuser.
Featuring a carbon-fibre monocoque and body panels, the Dendrobium weighs in at just 1750kg - impressive considering the weight of its heavy lithium ion batteries.
Vanda hasn't revealed how much power its two electric motors produce but they're rumoured to generate a combined 1000hp (745kW.)
Against the clock, the Dendrobium is claimed to hit 100km/h in just 2.7 seconds and top out at more than 320km/h.
Inside, the interior has been stripped-back to save weight.
Instead of wing mirrors, the Dendrobium features side cameras that project the view behind onto two displays that flank a digital instrument panel.
Vanda Electrics says the concept has been created to gauge public perception. If positive, the Dendrobium hypercar could be on sale as soon as 2020.
There's no indication how expensive the pure-electric hypercar will be.
