Honda has released a picture of its Civic hatch on along a production line prior to the car's official media launch at the Paris motor show next week.
The Civic hatch, which will be built at Honda's manufacturing at Swindon, in the UK, has already been revealed officially, so there's precious little left to trumpet in Paris.
But perhaps more importantly than having the hatchback model's style reconfirmed is the word from Honda that the UK production facility will export the Civic hatch to 70 countries. Honda Australia has previously advised that the Civic hatch will arrive here in the second quarter of next year. Swindon has already shipped off some Civic hatch production to the USA, which has not been a strong market for the Civic hatch in recent years.
Honda has sunk £200m (A$347 million) into the restructure of Swindon as a global production hub, with 3600 staff there building the new hatch.
“As we reveal this new Civic, we look forward with confidence as we expand the role of our Swindon manufacturing plant," said Katsushi Inoue, President and Chief Operating Officer of Honda Motor Europe.
"Honda has made significant investments in this facility and this next step is an important endorsement of the skills and expertise of our workforce. We’re also setting out a clear and sustainable future role for HUM, broadening our export markets beyond Europe.”
