Lexus has been caught trademarking the name 'LC F', confirming rumours it is readying a true BMW M6 rival.
Currently, the Japanese car-maker has confirmed it will launch just two versions of its glamourous coupe – a powerful 351kW 5.0-litre V8 (LC 500) that's combined with a new 10-speed auto and a more efficient 220kW 3.5-litre V6 hybrid (LC 500h).
According to a new report, the new LC F is likely to combine the more powerful V8 with the hybrid running gear of the LC 500h.
If so, the Lexus LC F will come with around 450kW, sprint to 100km/h in less than four seconds and top out at around 330km/h.
The performance flagship will also trade some luxury for a more hard-core nature that could include a rethought aero to maximise downforce.
Senior Lexus execs, in December, publically admitted the LC coupe provided the perfect basis for a faster car that could showcase Lexus’ position as a hybrid pioneer -- the LC F could be that car.
