Blisteringly powerful C 63 AMG is caught on camera

Benz afficianadoes will be keenly anticipating the C 63 AMG at the Frankfurt motor show in September. This particular example pictured was snapped in the field by those blokes with the long lenses and the patience of Job, Carparazzi.

The wheels are bespoke AMG units which will be available as an option on lesser models when the W204 series goes on sale in Australia next month.

A deep front airdam appears to feature a honeycomb mesh insert for the engine's cooling, flanked by larger fog lights. Four chrome exhaust tips point to the large capacity (6.2 litres) V8 engine which is shared with the larger E 63.

For the C 63 AMG, Carparazzi postulates a lower state of tune, which would still exceed the power and torque of the E91 BMW M3. If their figure of 400 to 420bhp is correct, the C 63 AMG will be approximately 10 per cent more powerful than the current C 55 AMG.
