HSV plans unaffected by local Pontiac G8 plans

No skin off our nose, says HSV

Holden Special Vehicles has dismissed talk that plans to release a limited run of Pontiac G8 models in Australia has impacted on its new E2 range. It comes despite intense speculation and leaked images that suggest HSV was preparing to utilise the Pontiac G8-style twin scoop bonnet on its soon-to-be released new line-up.

Company spokesman Simon Frost told the Carsales Network that there was no problem between Holden and its performance division about the decision to use up G8 parts, including the aggressively styled bonnet.

"HSV and Holden work closely together on new model launches," Frost said. "They know what we're doing and we know what they've got planned."

With HSV set to launch its new look early next month Frost was playing his cards close to his chest in order to keep the refreshed styling a secret.

"You'll just have to wait until September 9," Frost said.

"There's been a lot of speculation. Some of that speculation has centred on a performance look with a twin scoop bonnet."
