The local distributor of the Foton Tunland light commercial vehicle has announced new pricing and a simpler model range.
As before, the dual-cab Tunland remains powered by a 2.8-litre Cummins turbo-diesel, rated at 120kW and 360Nm. Official fuel consumption is as low as 8.3L/100km in combined-cycle testing. The engine drives through a Getrag manual (five-speed) transmission to the rear wheels or – by means of Borg-Warner dual-range transfer and Dana axles – to all four wheels.
Standard equipment for the 4x2 model consists of electric windows, Bluetooth connectivity with audio streaming, four-speaker audio system, alloy wheels, reverse-parking sensors and daytime running lights. The 4x4 model gains cruise control, full leather upholstery and larger (17-inch) alloy wheels. Pricing for the 4x2 has not changed, at $26,990 including on-road costs, but the 4x4 – now available in just the one grade – has come down in price by $3000 to $29,990, drive-away.
Both variants are sold with a three-year/100,000km warranty, with 24-hour road-side assistance for the duration. Ateco is currently locked in talks with the manufacturer negotiating a price for the single-cab Tunland sold here by previous Foton distributor FAA.
