Renowned automotive designer Henrik Fisker will reveal his newest creation at the Los Angeles motor show next week in conjunction with US tuning giant Galpin Auto Sports.
The former BMW and Aston Martin designer, who attempted to rival Tesla's Model S with the ill-fated Fisker Karma plug-in hybrid luxury car, will reveal the striking new Rocket for the first time on November 19.
No details were revealed alongside this single teaser sketch, Fisker and Galpin only saying the Rocket will be “the ultimate American muscle car”.
Galpin Auto Sports is related to US car retailing giant Galpin Motors, which owns Aston Martin, Honda, Jaguar, Lincoln, Lotus, Mazda, Subaru, Volkswagen and Volvo dealerships and claims to be world's biggest selling Ford dealer.
It specialises in customising new and used vehicles and produces bespoke models like the 620kW Ford GT-based Galpin Ford GTR1 supercar.
Fisker, meanwhile, has designed a number of automotive icons including the BMW Z8, Aston Martin DB9 and Karma, before he resigned from Fisker Automotive in March 2013. The company was then sold to China's Wanxiang America Corp, which plans to reinvent the brand with a new model.
The Rocket will mark the return to coachbuilding for Fisker, who's company previously produced the Mercedes-Benz SL-based Tramonto and BMW 6 Series-based Latigo CS.
It is widely expected to be based on Ford new Mustang, a modified version of which – powered by a 540kW supercharged 5.0-litre V8 — was revealed by Galpin at the SEMA aftermarket show in Las Vegas last week.
