Ford Australia has announced full equipment details for its last homegrown Terriory, the SZ Mk II, ahead of its release in November.
The Blue Oval yesterday announced the upgraded Territory will be its most technologically advanced yet, thanks to Ford's latest WiFi-enabled SYNC2 and Emergency Assistance connectivity systems as standard across the range.
Along with range-wide feature details, Ford has confirmed the Territory will remain a three-variant proposition (TX, TS and Titanium), as per the current range, with the same two (petrol and diesel) engines and six-speed automatic transmission.
That means the 2.7-litre Land Rover-sourced V6 TDCi turbo-diesel and the 4.0-litre 'Aussie' petrol six. The diesel unit is offered in conjunction with the choice of rear- and all-wheel drive while the petrol model remains rear-drive only.
Naturally, equipment levels are similar to those of the Falcon on which it's based, with new additions including an eight-inch colour touch-screen, SYNC2 voice recognition connectivity, Emergency Assistance, reversing camera, front parking sensors, digital radio, Bluetooth, USB ports, Wi-Fi hotspot, a new selection of alloy wheels and, for the Titanium, rain-sensing wipers.
Like the Falcon, the new Territory receives a new front fascia with trapezoidal grille, but adds a 'robust' skid plate and rectangular foglights. Safety equipment remains identical, while the colour palette changes to a choice of eight: Winter White (solid), Silhouette, Lightning Strike, Vanish, Archon Bronze, Smoke, Emperor (not available on TX) and Fine Alloy (new).
Ford is yet to announce pricing for its upgraded Territory, which has found more than 155,000 homes since 2004, so stand by for that and our first drive review from the official launch in late November.
