Porsche will target Rolls Royce Ghost buyers, big Bentley fans and aficionados of other uber-luxury brands with a limited edition Panamera set to debut at this month's Los Angeles Auto Show.
Dubbed, the Panamera Exclusive Series, the new flagship could be the last hurrah for the current series Panamera which will soon be replaced
by an all-new car -- spy photos of which we published recently.
Just 100 of the Exclusives will be built and none are earmarked for Australian release. Setting it apart from the Rodeo Drive crowd, the car features two-tone paintwork -- Jet Black metallic and contrasting hand-applied Chestnut Brown metallic blended highlight on the flanks.
Inside Italian Poltrona Frau finished leather is also two-tone. And trim surfaces feature "a blend of colors with a transition of dark walnut wood into a deep black piano lacquer surface from the front to the rear", says Porsche.
The car showcases Porsche's new Rear Seat Entertainment System Plus. The multimedia system comprises two 10.1-inch touchscreens with built-in camera and integrated DVD player.
Says Porsche: "the system facilitates comprehensive business and entertainment functions, including mobile internet access". Audio is by Burmester.
A custom-tailored five-piece Poltrona Frau Chestnut Brown leather luggage set is offered as an option.
In the USA, the Panamera Exclusive Series is priced from $US263,900. By way of contrast, the standard US market Panamera Turbo S is priced at around $US180,000.
The near 50 per cent premium would see the Exclusive likely top $650,000 if it were to be sold Down Under.
