Maserati achieving critical mass

Prestige brand opening two new dealerships in Melbourne and Sydney
The Maserati brand in Australia is forging ahead, and sales are set to continue escalating with Zagame Automotive announcing its new premises in Melbourne, and McCarroll's Group days away from officially opening its new facility in Artarmon.
According to VFACTS, the prestige brand has sold 336 cars around the nation for the year so far, fully 200 per cent ahead of the same time last year. That's largely attributable to new product, in the form of the facelifted Quattroporte and the new, smaller Ghibli sedan. Establishing the new retail outlets will serve to capture even more sales in a larger net.
"This new dealership is much more than enabling us to meet the increasing demand for Maserati products," says Bobby Zagame, Managing director of the Zagame Automotive Group.
"Maserati Melbourne will enable us to offer an even better and more convenient service to our existing owners and as well as offering a quality of service to new clients that meets – and even exceeds – the exacting standards of Maserati."
The new dealership (pictured) is located on the corner of Swanston and Victoria Streets on the edge of Melbourne's CBD. It's the second Maserati dealership for the southern capital, and the first to be dedicated to the Maserati brand.
"With its existing dealership in Swan Street, Richmond, described at its opening by Maserati as one its best dealerships in the world and its record of sales and customer service with Maserati since they took over the representation in Victoria, we had no hesitation appointing Zagame to open this second facility which is a key component to Maserati's national plans," Glen Sealey, General Manager of Maserati Australia observed.
"The Zagame Group has rewarded Maserati's trust with a second world class facility that offers both supreme levels of customer service and, with its architectural excellence, is a fine addition to the Melbourne CBD cityscape."
The showroom in the new facility can accommodate 15 cars, and the staffing level will grow from 12 currently to 15 as Maserati's Victorian sales remain on an upward path.
Up in Sydney, they're putting the finishing touches on McCarroll's new Maserati dealership in Artarmon ahead of its official opening on December 1. Explaining the need for a new Maserati dealer located on Sydney's north shore, dealer principal Simon McCarroll pointed to the growing sales volume in Australia, shortly to be boosted again by a new product.
"With sales growth at this remarkable level and more new models on the horizon such as the Levante luxury SUV, it has become essential to open a new Sydney dealership to meet the exceptional consumer interest in Maserati's superb vehicles," he was quoted saying in a press release.
The new showroom boasts fixtures and fittings imported from Italy and when it opens it will be staffed by employees trained in the ways of baristas, to supply customers with coffee from the La Marzocco espresso machine. A customisation room forms part of the facility, providing customers with the wherewithal to select trim materials, colours and other optional features to set their car apart from the rest.
