Bentley SUV on video

British brand releases second teaser video of its mould-breaking crossover

Bentley has released a new teaser video of the hulking five-door SUV that will be unlike any other luxury model from the historic British brand when it emerges late next year.

Due on sale globally in 2016, the 'Flying Spur of crossovers' is codenamed Falcon and will ride on the same new MLB Evo platform as other big Audis and Porsches.

It is expected to be offered with twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 and 6.0-litre W12 power, with a plug-in hybrid variant to follow in 2017.

No new information has been supplied with this latest teaser video, which follows

, the , a teaser shot in March and the debut of the polarising EXP 9 F concept at the 2012 Geneva motor show.

The video does, however, show Bentley's first SUV will come with hand-stitched leather upholstery, inside a five-door wagon body that's been significantly toned down from the ungainly EXP 9 F concept.

As previewed by earlier official images, it will feature a large Bentley grille flanked by circular headlights, plus a heavily raked rear-end and segment-obligatory roof rails.

"In the eyes of Bentley, the SUV is not just supremely capable in any environment, it is also supremely comfortable – and with new vistas on the world, you will see through new eyes," said Bentley of its latest teaser video.
