Infiniti has provided a sneak-peek of a concept car that is expected to preview an all-new flagship for the Japanese premium brand.
In a short overnight press release titled 'Style and substance that push any preconceived limits', Nissan's luxury brand said: "Soon, Infiniti will share a vision – its soul – on a scale not seen before from the company.
"For now, this. For more - À bientôt," which means 'see you soon' in French, indicating a global reveal at the Paris motor show on October 2.
Infiniti's Australian line-up currently comprises the mid-size Q50 and large Q70 sedans, the Q60 coupe and convertible, and the QX70 crossover.
The hottest vehicle Infiniti has shown so far is the 418kW Q50 Eau Rouge sports sedan, which we've driven in prototype form and continues to be developed for production.
But the ambitious luxury car-maker has plans to expand its range by up to five models, including a range-topping circa-500kW super-sedan to rival Porsche's Panamera, which could be released by 2017 or 2018.
Motoring.com.au understands that Richard Emery, the chief of Infiniti Australia, which recently underwent a management reshuffle and is undertaking a review of its business is currently in Japan, where he may see the concept that could reach production as the Q90 sedan and/or Q100 coupe.
Infiniti's next Australian release will be the Q50 2.0I sedan, powered by a turbo-petrol engine, on September 22.
However, the QX80 full-size luxury SUV -- a rival for the Lexus LX470 -- remains off the agenda for Australia, where the next all-new Infiniti model will be the small Q30 hatch, which is not expected until late 2015 or early 2016.
