You've read the stories: Later this month, you'll be able to see the real item when the Lamborghini Huracan LP 610-4 makes its full Australian debut, following its initial unveiling in Perth, by appearing in showrooms in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
The $428,000, 448kW normally aspirated 5.2-litre mid-engined V10 coupe replaces the super-successful Gallardo model and, although it is about $27,000 cheaper, comes with the full suite of supercar credentials, including the ability to reach 200km/h in the time it takes many cars to reach 100km/h.
The 0-100km/h sprint in the Huracan is dispatched in just 3.2 seconds – pretty quick. But the cost in terms of fuel consumption isn't massive: The one-metre tall Lamborghini's official combined average figure is 12.5L/100km, although the CO2 emissions at 290g/km are pretty high on the scale.
The $428,000 (plus on-road costs) price is accompanied by a three-year unlimited warranty backed by a 12-years corrosion warranty, and as we can attest from our latest drive at Fuji Raceway in Japan the new Lambo is mightily impressive and a big step up from the Gallardo.
Automobili Lamborghini's Singapore-based Head of South East Asia and Pacific, Sebastien Henry, said: "We are very proud to officially launch the new Lamborghini Huracan LP 610-4 here in Australia. Automobili Lamborghini continues to set new benchmarks in the luxury super sports car industry with its pure and cutting edge technology, and we expect the Huracan to be well received in this country."
