Holden has recalled almost 5000 Colorado light commercial vehicles to check the seatbelt anchorages of the jump seats in extended-cab models.
According to Holden, it's possible that one of two bolts holding each of the seatbelt anchorage points in place has not been fitted during the production process in Thailand. Each anchorage point will be held fastened by one bolt, but in an
emergency additional stress may be placed on that fastener without its
partner in place.
The recall affects approximately 4228 vehicles in Australia and 350 in New Zealand. Vehicles affected are MY12 to MY16 models built between September 15, 2011 and June 16, 2015. The VIN range is MMU142ED0CH600065 to MMU145DK0GH607082 and Holden is writing to owners to notify them of the problem.
Holden's latest Colorado recall -- its ninth recall in total so far this year -- follows the April recall of more than 26,000 Colorado utes and SUVs built between September 4, 2013 and January 21 this year to remedy a potential fire hazard.
