HSV has released the first limited-edition version of its Holden Calais-based Senator Signature luxury sports sedan in seven years, dubbed the Senator SV.
Limited to just 50 units for Australia and a further two for New Zealand, the special Senator brings a host of unique additions for an unchanged price of $83,990 plus on-road costs.
Headlining the list of extras are all-new 20-inch five-spoke 'SV Rapier' forged alloy wheels with a Dark Stainless finish, plus a range of 'pitch black' exterior accents, including the grille surround, fender vents, mirror scalps, lip spoiler, door surrounds and badging.
There are also bold quad exhaust outlets with shadow-chrome tips and, inside, unique 'Senator SV' sill plates, ID plate, Enhanced Driver Interface start-up screen and an individual number.
These items are in addition to the Senator Signature's standard specification, including a 340kW LS3 V8, AP Racing forged four-piston brake callipers, HSV Performance seats with Onyx leather trim, Magnetic Ride Control suspension and technologies like EDI and Driver Preference Dial.
“We wanted to introduce styling enhancements that further accentuated the vehicle’s street presence and exclusivity,” said HSV Chief of Design and Styling, Julian Quincey.
"We were keen to take Senator Signature’s luxury/performance positioning and deliver a darker, more brooding edge to its styling."
Four exterior paint colours will be offered when production begins this month -- Heron, Phantom, Prussian Steel and Nitrate – and, like the standard Senator Signature, the SV will be available with either a TR6060 six-speed manual transmission or GM's 6L80E six-speed automatic with Active Select and paddle-shifters.
"As Senator Signature is already an exceptionally well equipped vehicle, we challenged our design team to come up with a differentiated styling package, one that accentuates the vehicle’s 'wolf in sheep’s clothing' positioning and further enhances its street presence," said HSV Managing Director, Tim Jackson.
“We haven’t released a limited-edition Senator since 2008 so we’re sure the Senator SV will be well received by our fans.”
