It seems even caravanners can get upset when stuck behind other, slow-moving caravans.
That’s one of the messages behind a humorous new TV commercial promoting the towing abilities of the latest Holden Colorado 7 wagon.
In the 30 second ad (see below), a father and young son are seen traipsing across the countryside in the big Holden, 4WD seven-seater, towing a family-sized Jayco Silverline caravan.
After splashing across creeks and tearing up some dirt tracks they hit the bitumen highway, only to get stuck behind a much older wagon and caravan trundling along, grey nomad style.
After swiftly overtaking the leisurely rig, Dad mutters the oft-repeated phrase “Bloody caravanners”, with impressionable son in the back joining in the fun…
The tongue-in-cheek commercial is the latest in Holden’s new ‘Let’s Go There’ marketing campaign, as the iconic Australian brands makes the difficult transition from much-loved local manufacturer to fully-fledged vehicle importer.
By the way, the Thai-built Colorado 7 does live up to the hype as a decent tow tug, as our good friends at caravancampingsales.com.au discovered back in 2013. (Note: the Colorado 7 now features a 147kW/500Nm diesel engine and 3500kg towing capacity).
