Local distributors have announced Australian pricing for the Bentley Mulsanne Speed and the Morgan 3 Wheeler.
And there's reasonably good news for buyers of the quirky Morgan... not so much for fans of the understated but formidable Bentley.
As we reported back in January, the 3 Wheeler (or M3W for short) was expected to sell in Australia for "close to $90,000." The local distributor has overshot the target, with the 3 Wheeler selling for $94,990. In Victoria, according to the distributor's website, that grows to $103,109, inclusive of on-road costs. It's a lot for such a small, but intriguing car. Morgan was never about sales volumes though...
At $733,387, the Mulsanne Speed – a limousine measuring nearly 5.6m in length and developing 395kW/1100Nm from its 6.75-litre twin-turbo V8 – is something like $260,000 more than its asking price in Europe. Back in September of last year, when the Australian dollar was worth a bit more than it is now, we reported that the Mulsanne Speed was selling in Europe for €315,000. At the time the Australian equivalent was around $450,000. Reflecting the Aussie dollar's slide in the meantime, the same figure now equates to $473,000.
