The most iconic model in the Jeep range, the Wrangler, has spawned another special-edition model for the Australian market.
Based on the Overland level of trim, the Wrangler X – named for X-Games – is available in both short-wheelbase and Unlimited styles. Power is supplied by the 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 coupled to the five-speed automatic transmission.
Just 70 units will be sold, priced at $47,000 for the SWB model, or $51,000 for the Wrangler X Unlimited. Four colours are available: Bright White, Black, Firecracker Red and Baja Yellow.
Features of the Wrangler X shared with the Wrangler Overland donor include: climate control, leather-bound multi-function steering wheel, heated front seats, 6.5-inch infotainment touch screen, satellite navigation, 40gb hard drive, DVD player and reversing camera.
Additionally, the Wrangler X comes with 18-inch gloss-black alloy wheels with polished lip, 'power dome' bonnet with functional air vents, three-piece removal hard top roof, body-colour wheel arch flares/grille, 'Wrangler X' decals for bonnet and 'swing gate', gloss black headlight bezels/grille inserts/badging, Mopar black fuel filler flap.
Inside, the extras consist of combination black McKinley leather/vinyl upholstery with black mesh fabric seat inserts and slate-grey stitching, embroidered logo on front seat squabs, black stitching for the steering wheel rim, Ceramic White switch bezels/door grab handles/air vent rings, and all-weather floor mats with Jeep logo.
