Jaguar's F-PACE tease rolls on

First Jaguar SUV appears wrapped in Tour de France sponsorship livery

Jaguar's official strip-tease of its first SUV continues with the release of images and a video of the quaintly named F-PACE draped in Team Sky livery as part of its ongoing sponsorship of the British cycling team.

Due to make its world debut at the Frankfurt motor show in September before going on sale here in mid-2016, the F-PACE will appear as Team Sky's support vehicle for this weekend’s Tour de France.

Although it's dubbed a prototype, the Team Sky-liveried F-PACE shows more of the five-door crossover wagon partially revealed in another official teaser video just last week, and appears almost identical to the C-X16 concept that previewed it at the 2013 Frankfurt show.

Jaguar has previously used its sponsorship of the Sky bike team to promote its wares, including the XF wagon and F-TYPE coupe, both of which have acted as support vehicles in the Tour de France. The new F-PACE images and video feature 2013 winner Chris Froome.

As we've reported, the all-wheel drive F-PACE will be based on the same "aluminium-intensive" platform as the all-new Jaguar XE mid-size sedan that arrives in Australia in September and the second-generation XF large sedan due here early next year.
