We've already seen the all-new Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe, a sleeker version of the M-Class and Daimler's direct response to BMW's X6, including the sporty GLE 450 AMG 4MATIC version.
But now Benz has released these first images and a teaser video of the range-topping GLE 63 AMG Coupe, which has previously been spied in testing but will make its official world debut at the Detroit motor show next week.
The inevitable performance hero of the GLE Coupe line-up will likely be powered by a version of the same new 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 that graces the new AMG GT.
In the upcoming C 63 AMG, the same engine produces 350kW, rising to no less than 375kW in top-shelf S form.
But some reports suggest that, to better compete with its BMW X6 M rival, which packs a 422kW twin-turbo 4.4-litre V8, the GLE AMG Coupe will muster up as much as 425kW.
Either way, the hottest GLE Coupe will easily out-muscle the 270kW 450 AMG version.
Also today, Mercedes has confirmed the GLE Coupe will appear in the latest Jurassic Park movie – Jurassic World – to be released in June.
The move is an extension of a partnership with Universal Pictures that saw the first Jurassic Park film of 1997 help introduce the first M-Class, the upcoming facelift of which will be renamed the GLE.
That vehicle will not be revealed at Detroit, but should instead emerge at the Geneva show in March, after which Mercedes will reveal the replacement for its smaller GLK – a mid-size luxury SUV that will be called the GLC when it arrives here late this year.
