Just when you thought the new Mercedes-AMG C 63 S sedan set an impossible benchmark by pouncing to 100km/h in just four seconds thanks to its 375kW/700Nm 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8, along comes this.
Meet the Brabus version, which ups peak power by no less than 66kW to 441kW at 5800rpm and maximum torque by a wholesome 100Nm to 800Nm over a broad 1750-4500rpm.
According to the German hot tuner, that makes it capable of hitting the national highway limit in just 3.8 seconds – two tenths quicker than the hottest factory C 63 sedan and a tenth sooner than the upcoming C 63 S Coupe.
What's more, Brabus says its 600hp C 63 can crack 300km/h – up from the standard car's governed 250km/h top speed -- which isn't bad for a mid-size executive sedan. The wagon version is just as fast, but a tenth slower to 100km/h.
If you ask nicely, Brabus might also fit your C 63 with its new PowerXtra B40-600 tuning kit, led by a plug-and-play auxiliary control module for the electronic engine management system, which brings new injection, ignition and boost pressure mapping.
While the seven-speed automatic transmission remains, Brabus also fits an all-stainless exhaust with reduced back-pressure and electronically-controlled butterfly valves, which switch between open and 'coming home' mode at the push of a cockpit button.
Brabus claims the upgraded powertrain has been extensively tested on public roads and racetracks, and – when treated to high-performance Motul motor oil – comes with a three-year/100,000km Brabus Tuning Warranty.
In the chassis department, the hotter C 63 is fitted with a wind tunnel-tested aero package manufactured from clear-coated carbon with matte or shiny surface seal.
Unique features include air outlets in the front fenders and the production front bumper of the sedan and wagon can be upgraded with a Brabus lip spoiler. Also available are carbon side air intake surrounds and clear-coated carbon wing mirror caps, plus a rear diffuser and spoiler for the sedan.
Completing the exterior package are king-size 20-inch Brabus Monoblock T five-spoke wheels with carbon inlays on each spoke, measuring 8.5Jx20 at the front and 9.5Jx20 at rear, and shod with 55/30 ZR20 front and 275/30 ZR20 rear Continental, Pirelli or Yokohama rubber.
Naturally, interior Brabus upgrades are also limited only by your wallet, and include everything from stainless-steel scuff plates with colour-changing backlit 'BRABUS' logo and ergonomic aluminium paddle shifters to a 340km/h speedo.
