Tesla creates robo-snake charger

CEO Elon Musk reveals experimental robotic snake to find, and automatically plug into your car’s charging point

Tesla founder, Elon Musk, has tweeted a video of a new, state-of-the-art way to help owners charge their pure electric vehicles.

Using a robotic snake to physically plug into a Model S, the new working prototype has been created to find a charging point of any Tesla.

Created to take into account varying degrees of parking finesse, the new robotic arms mimics a snake’s movement as sensors and cameras locate and plug in to the charging point.

There’s no word when Tesla will green light the robo-snake charger for full-scale production.
