Shanghai-based Chinese-Israeli car-maker Qoros has released teaser images of a new compact SUV concept with a plug-in hybrid powertrain.
Due to make its world debut at the brand's home motor show on Monday (April 20), the edgy Qoros 2 show car is expected to preview an all-new city-crossover to rival the Nissan JUKE and MINI Countryman.
As its name suggests, the 4.2-metre Qoros 2 should be positioned in the Qoros range below the 3 Sedan, 3 Hatch and 3 City SUV, which is 4.45 metres long. However, like all Qoros models, it will not be produced in right-hand drive.
Reports suggest the Qoros 2 will be based on a small car platform from Chery, which is a shareholder in Qoros, and the concept was created in just 10 weeks at Qoros design studios in Munich and Shanghai.
The concept features a plug-in hybrid powertrain in which the battery cells can be inductively charged and the rear axle is electrified, making it all-wheel drive.
