Forget personalised plates, Lace Glam Plates are the latest must-have for fashionistas…
At least that's the (marketing-heavy) message from Personalised Plates Queensland. PPQ is a private company that licences the right to sell 'vanity' plates in Queensland. The company claims "sales proceeds helps support road safety in Queensland"… but let’s not go there right now…
Instead, we'll stick to the subject of what PPQ says is the "release of the first of three limited-edition, designer plates under the 'Glam Plates' banner.
Aimed primarily at female drivers, the Lace plates are available now at PPQ.com.au. In 2016, they will be joined by the Leopard and Diamond editions.
PPQ General Manager Jemma Elder told motoring.com.au: "Ladies love their cars just as much as men and celebrate them more as a statement of their own individual style.
“Glam plates are designed specifically for women looking to celebrate their personality and add a bit of humour, fun and femininity to their ride. It's a range we know our existing enthusiasts will love and that will also open up a whole new market for personalised plates.
"This is a trend we can add and essentially 'wear' every single day as the perfect designer accent to the main event."
According to PPQ the Gold Coast remains "the undisputed personalised plate capital of Queensland" but it is far from "front row when it comes to female-centric purchases".
"The top five plate sale suburbs for the ladies alone are Mackay, Toowoomba, Caboolture, Morayfield and Bundaberg. We look forward to seeing how things shift with these funkier new designs," Elder said.
PPQ's Lace Plates cost $495.
