First came the MINI Mayfair; now a new throw of the dice has landed the quirky, BMW-owned manufacturer on Park Lane once more – for its new limited edition Countryman model.
Unveiled in Geneva, the MINI Countryman Park Lane will go on sale globally from July this year. Four engine variants will be offered, as will the option of the ALL4 all-wheel drive system.
The show car is finished in Earl Grey metallic, with a new colour – Oak Red – for the roof, door mirrors and stripes. For the interior, the designers have gone with Oxide Silver and Carbon Black coordinating colours. MINI intends to offer the Countryman Park Lane with a premium equipment package – and reading between the lines, that will cost extra. However, the multi-function steering wheel, sports seats in leather/fabric combination, climate control, trip computer, rain-sensing wipers/auto headlights and velour floor mats are expected to be standard.
No word at the present time as to whether we'll see the Countryman in Australia, but it seems likely. We wouldn't want to miss a turn, after all...
