Donkervoort has released a new unpainted version of its D8 GTO supercar that has a body made entirely out of stronger and lighter carbonfibre.
Unpainted, hence the new D8 GTO Bare Naked Carbon Edition name, the new model is said to be even lighter than the standard 700kg claim for the D8 GTO and even stiffer thanks to all that carbonfibre.
From headlight, nosecone, to the rear diffuser and roll bar, carbonfibre is everywhere on the Donkervoort. Fabricating the carbonfibre parts itself, the Dutch carmaker is a specialist with the lightweight material and makes parts for other manufacturers,
Under the new lighter body panels 2.5-litre five-cylinder turbo from the Audi TT RS carries over.
Thanks to its 280kW/450Nm the D8 still hits 100km/h mark in just 2.8 seconds, reaching 200km/h in an incredible 8.6s before eventually maxing out at 270km/h.
It’s not known how much the Bare Naked Carbon Edition sells for but the D8 GTO begins at around $170,000 in the Netherlands.
