SPY PICS: Ford GT cover blown

Stealthy matte paint alone can't hide the sleek looks of the 2017 GT

The matte paint and black wheels lend this 2017 Ford GT some sort of surreal, video game presence, but it's not computer-generated, it's the real deal.

A spy photographer from Automedia caught the car in production trim and retaining practically all the design elements of the concept car unveiled at the Detroit motor show back in January.

Inside, according to the spy snapper, the production GT retains fixed seating (with adjustable pedals and steering column), shift paddles and a configurable instrument binnacle.

As our US correspondent Todd Hallenbeck has reported, peak power for the new GT's twin-turbo 3.5-litre V6 is expected to exceed 450kW – at least 40kW more than the V8-engined GT this new model is set to replace.
