Morgan will reveal a new pure electric version of its 3 Wheeler at the Goodwood Festival of Speed next week, the company has confirmed.
Powered by a single rear-mounted 75kW electric motor, the new electric Morgan is said to weigh less than 450kg and cover up to 250km between charges.
Significantly quicker than the less powerful petrol 2.0-litre V-twin, the new electric 3 Wheeler is expected to sprint to 100km/h in less than six seconds and potentially even hit 200km/h.
Said to have a more aerodynamic shape than the current 3 Wheeler, the EV3 is currently a working prototype that will undergo thorough testing and development before the zero-emissions Morgan goes into production some time in 2016, it’s expected.
