GENEVA MOTOR SHOW: Morgan teases new 'supercar'

Niche British brand Morgan confirms new model reveal next month

Morgan Motor Company has released a teaser image of an all-new model that will make its world debut at the Geneva motor show on March 3.

No further information has been announced, with Morgan saying only that it will reveal more details in the lead up to the Swiss auto show in less than four weeks.

"We are excited to announce that we will be launching a new Morgan at the Geneva International Motor Show in March," said Morgan on its Facebook page.

"We look forward to sharing more information about the car with you all over the next few weeks."

The image clearly shows the vehicle will wear Morgan's traditional design cues, including round headlights and a round-topped chrome grille with multiple vertical bars.

It's possible the car will be a replacement for either the Aero coupe or the SuperSport hard-top convertible, which currently tops the brand's Australian range at $339,990.

If so, it will be the first new Morgan released since the Plus 8 Speedster in 2014. The Plus 8 is based on the same aluminium chassis as the Aero models and weighs less than 1200kg. All three modern Morgans are powered by a BMW-sourced 4.8-litre V8.

Morgan last month received Australian Design Rule approval for the venerable 3 Wheeler last month, ahead of its release here in June.
