Peugeot has pulled the virtual drapes off a 653kW supercar that can out-accelerate an F1 car and give a Le Mans endurance racer a run for its money on track.
Created by Peugeot designers in collaboration with the French car-maker’s motorsport division, Peugeot Sport, the new free download for the PlayStation Gran Turismo 6 video game is said to be a supercar that’s been shaped by the racetrack.
Standing just 104cm tall, the new Peugeot supercar lacks the usual big spoilers because, according to its designers, it doesn’t need them and its body is aerodynamic enough to provide enough downforce.
Powered by an 875bhp (653kW) mid-engined 3.2-litre V6 turbo petrol, the supercar weighs in at just 875kg thanks to its lightweight construction.
With all-wheel drive combined with a power-to-weight ratio of 1:1 the Peugeot is said to reach 100km/h in just 1.73 seconds.
Huge carbon-ceramic brake Brembo discs (380mm front, 337mm rear) are said to provide immense stopping power if the concept was ever put into production — which is unlikely.
Instead, use the Vision GT as a signpost of Peugeot’s future direction — perhaps even indicating a future RCZ coupe — if the car-maker has a change of heart and decides to replace it.
