Nissan has announced the return of the Nissan Navara Titanium limited edition model, which is priced $1500 above the regular ST Dual Cab 4x4 model it's based on and brings thousands of dollars' worth of extras to the table.
Already the best-selling model in the Navara ute range, the upgraded ST model in Titanium trim costs $48,790 with a manual gearbox (up from $47,290) but adds a veritable cornucopia of extra features, such as special alloy wheels, leather accented trim and a sunroof.
Titanium finishes on the grille, door handles and (heated) side mirrors are new, and a soft tonneau cover, tub liner, driving lights, nudge bar and rear sports bar with integrated stop light are added too. It also gets 'Titanium Edition' badging.
Power adjustable heated front seats, tinted rear windows and Navara logo in the carpeted floor mats round out the extra features, which are designed to stoke interest (and sales) in the Navara.
Although the ute is Nissan's best-selling vehicle for the first half of 2014, ahead of the X-Trail, Pulsar and Dualis, compared to 2013 its popularity has slumped.
Thus far in 2014 Nissan has sold 8703 Navara utes, down more than a third (34.4 per cent) on last year's 13,723 sales. The Titanium special edition is likely to pique interest in the Navara, which will be replaced by a new-generation model in early 2015, dubbed the D23 series Navara.
Based on the popular Navara ST Dual Cab 4x4 model, the Titanium version hits the streets in mid-July, 2014, and is available with manual and auto transmissions. Pricing is as follows:
Nissan Navara Titanium: $48,790 (manual)
Nissan Navara Titanium: $51,090 (automatic)
