Good news for anyone in the market for a Tata Xenon; the Indian car-maker is continuing its push to clear outdated stock.
The "new" cash-back incentive, from a customer perspective, is little more than a re-labelling of the previous deal. Drive-away prices for the entire six-model Xenon range continue almost unchanged from those announced in the financial year clearance sale at the beginning of June and cover both 2013 and 2014 plated vehicles. The only differences are a $500 increase in the price of a 2013-plated single cab 4x4 pickup, which goes from $22,490 to $22,990 and the basic 4x2 single cab chassis that has been reduced from $20,990 in the financial year deal to $19,990.
All the prices reflect a significant drop in the at-launch pricing (in October 2013), of as much as $6000 in more expensive models.
With the anticipated, and belated, upgrade in the TATA LCV's ANCAP safety rating (the Xenon currently sits at two stars), the company is hoping for an upward creep in so-far infinitesimal sales.
The Xenon range is powered by a 110kW/320Nm Euro 5 compliant 2.2-litre turbo-diesel that claims a fuel consumption of just 7.4L/100km on the combined cycle.
All variants come with dual airbags, anti-lock braking, power windows, air-conditioning, Bluetooth, iPod and USB connectivity, 16-inch alloy wheels and central locking. Dual-cab versions are fitted as standard with satellite navigation and a reversing camera.
