Spy pics of the next iteration of Volkswagen's top-selling Caddy have emerged in Europe, with the shots perhaps emphasising more of what the facelifted vehicle isn't, rather than what it is.
The photos show what is essentially a mild revision of the compact light commercial, proving the next major update for the model is still in the pipeline and probably won't surface until 2017.
Snapped while undergoing high-altitude testing in the Swiss Alps, the facelift shows a number of cosmetic tweaks, including new front and rear bumpers, new headlights and taillights, and a new front grille.
The changes will likely be backed up by an engine revision and the addition of extra tech features, along with higher-grade trim.
Caddy has lost some traction in the Australian market this year, its 717 sales to the end of May (FCAI data) representing a fall of 23.8 per cent on the corresponding period last year.
In second place in the sales charts, Renault's recently revitalised Kangoo may have only racked up 221 sales in that period, but the figure accounts for impressive growth of 66.2 per cent.
Suzuki's APV is nipping at Kangoo's heels, with 220 sales, ahead of Citroen Berlingo (107) and Peugeot Partner (18).
