This updated version of the Mercedes-Benz ML 63 AMG caught the attention of Automedia spy photographers, as the partly-disguised car thundered through southern Europe for a recent shakedown run.
Although the basic elements appear pretty much a carry-over from the current car, it is clear some work has been going on in the messily disguised front end.
The Automedia team reckon there will be a new, single-bar grille, as well as changes to the headlights (full LED?) and the daytime running lights to imbue the car with an identifiably fresh look. The back end of the quad-exhaust test mule looked completely unchanged – although it's unlikely Benz will fail to at least introduce new-look tail light lenses.
And while the test mule's 21-inch, five-spoke alloy wheels belong to the current AMG, it did sport cleaner-looking side skirts.
But the update could be more extensive than indicated here. Word is the ML will be getting "major" cosmetic changes that are certain to carry over to the interior.
Rumour also has it the ML 63 AMG will continue with the current twin-turbo V8 – maybe tweaked to produce a bit more power.
