Holden ups Commodore prices

Most versions of Australia's top-selling large car now $500 pricier as Holden adds Storm limited-editions

GM Holden has increased by $500 the price of most Commodores, sales of which spiked by 85 per cent last month to be up more than 60 per cent so far this year.

While base sedan, wagon and ute prices remain unchanged, the $500 price hike applies to most sports and luxury variants of Holden’s staple Commodore range.

They include sedan and wagon versions of the popular V8-powered SS, SS-V and SS-V Redline models, as well as V6 and V8 Calais sedans and wagons.

The Commodore SS sedan entry price is now $42,490 plus on-road costs, while Calais prices now start at $47,490.

At the same time, Holden has introduced special-edition ‘Storm’ versions of the SV6 and SS sedan, wagon and ute, as well as the one-tonne Colorado crew-cab.

Priced from $50,490 plus ORCs, the latter is priced $500 higher than the flagship Colorado LTX 4x4 Crew Cab upon which it’s based.

Similarly, the Storm treatment commands a $500 premium on the SV6 and SS sedan, wagon and ute.

Holden will announce details of its Storm special-editions next week.
