Porsche has rejigged the pricing and fettled the equipment list for the Platinum Edition of its Cayenne SUV.
Available in three drivetrain variants in Australia – the V6 petrol, diesel and S E-Hybrid – the Cayenne Platinum features wheel arch extensions, 20-inch RS Spyder Design wheels finished in platinum, a high-gloss black cosmetic package for the exterior and stainless steel door sills with "Platinum Edition" lettering for the petrol and diesel models (illuminated for the hybrid).
Further features fitted comprise a BOSE Surround Sound System, bi-xenon headlights with Porsche Dynamic Light System, heated front seats, Porsche crest on headrests, Power Steering Plus, Connect Plus and GTS sports seats (front) with eight-way electrical adjustment and Alcantara seat centres. Porsche claims that these items as options would retail for $13,590, but the price of each model has risen slightly, offsetting that added value in part.
In addition to those features, the hybrid also gains an auxillary heating and cooling system that operates when the car is stationary. According to the importer, the value of these features amounts to $11,600 – in light of the Cayenne S e-Hybrid's higher state of luxury than the other two variants. But the hybrid variant's price has been reduced to $136,700 for the Platinum edition, taking the total value gain to $18,000.
Colours available for the Platinum Edition are Black and White, plus the following metallic colours: Carrara White, Jet Black, Mahogany and Rhodium Silver and, exclusive to the Platinum Edition cars, Purpurit.
Porsche is taking orders now, with the deliveries to commence from late August.
Cayenne pricing is as follows, with dollar value gain in brackets:
Cayenne Platinum Edition $110,700 ($12,290)
Cayenne Diesel Platinum Edition $108,900 ($12,590)
Cayenne S E-Hybrid Platinum Edition $136,700 ($18,000)
