Hyundai has thrown everything at this year's SEMA (Speciality Equipment Market Association) show in Las Vegas.
The manufacturer has already unveiled a hard-core Veloster and a 1000hp Santa Fe.
Now comes the latest of the three show cars (so far) to be revealed prior to the show opening on November 1, the ARK Road Racer Elantra Concept. Developed jointly by Hyundai and ARK Performance, the Elantra is all muscled-up with Solus flared wheel arches and revised front and rear aprons. Completing the look is a vinyl wrap by Fiere Customs.
Inside, the Elantra features diamond-stitched upholstery and an ARK-branded sport steering wheel.
The engine is fed by an Xcargot XT26 turbocharger, part of an ARK kit also comprising a GRiP exhaust system, Turbosmart blow-off valve/wastegate and an ARK downpipe. Radically lowered, the Elantra features a DT-P coil-over system, front-strut-tower bar, performance anti-roll bars front and rear, larger front brakes and Nitto NT05 tyres on the ARK forged alloys.
"ARK Performance knows the Hyundai brand almost as well as our own," says Kevin Bentley, developer of the ARK Elantra Concept.
"We strive to leverage the superb product development of Hyundai engineers, building upon their expertise while offering something really special to enthusiasts. The ARK Road Racer Elantra Concept offers the specific model enhancements that our customers have come to expect from ARK."
