Tickford has announced new ‘personalisation packages’ for the Ford Mustang and new exhaust-only packages for the Mustang and Ford Ranger LCV.
Named for the output in kilowatts, the aftermarket brand’s 360 Power Pack has been developed for the V8-engined Mustang GT. Peak torque is boosted to 585Nm with this pack, which costs $6990. The pack consists of a cold-air intake, an ECU recalibration, Tickford’s own quad cat-back exhaust and an exclusive rear diffuser. The price quoted includes labour for fitting.
Tickford supplies the parts with a warranty and each car is also fitted with an individually-numbered build plate.
“Mustang owners are real vehicle enthusiasts, so we wanted to ensure Tickford’s first release of personalisation options captured their enjoyment of driving and enhanced it,” said Tickford Director Performance Parts, Tony Harris.
“Our aim was to not only deliver generous increases in power and torque, but also create a unique exhaust note which was strong and deep, yet was suitable for daily driving as well.
“Our 360 Power Pack is the epitome of our ‘Performance driven by passion’ tagline. It is tuned and developed for Australian conditions. We reckon it will put a smile on owners’ faces from the first time they start the car,” Harris told motoring.com.au.
And Tickford hasn’t forgotten EcoBoost Mustang owners.
The 270 Power Pack for the turbocharged four-cylinder takes output to 270kW and a serious 540Nm. Pricing and parts align with those in the V8’s 360 Power Pack.
“The Mustang EcoBoost is becoming a popular choice and our equivalent 270 Power Pack powertrain package will give owners a significant uplift in overall vehicle performance,” Harris continued.
“The 270 Power Pack will really surprise people and, like our V8 offering, it is backed by Tickford’s warranty.”
The personalisation and exhaust-only packs complement the company’s existing supercharger kit – branded Ford Performance Parts rather than Tickford – for the Mustang GT. In due course, the company will also offer ride and handling packages, plus cosmetic and interior upgrade options for the Mustang.
The $3990 exhaust-only option features a stainless-steel, mandrel-bent cat-back system with carbon-wrapped quad tips. The GT gets a three-inch (75mm) system while a 2.5-inch (60mm) is specified for the EcoBoost four.
Tickford today also announced a $2490 exhaust-only pack for the Ranger pick-up. This was previously only offered as part of the Ranger’s powertrain package. Now, the exhaust-only option is offered separately, comprising a 2.5-inch, side-exiting cat-back stainless-steel exhaust and dual carbon-tipped exhausts.
“Customer feedback on our various Ranger packages was positive after we launched, though a number of potential customers were interested in an exhaust-only option,” says Harris.
“One of our key brand pillars is to offer customers individuality, so we looked into an exhaust-only program and now offer it.
“Adding exhaust-only packages is a real world case of our customers assisting with our development and direction which is part of what we are about,” Harris stated.
