20 questions with Daniel Ricciardo

carsales' own, ever-smiling, often farting Daniel Ricciardo goes candid for just 20 questions

Perth-born Cancerian and wheel man for Red Bull Racing F1’s #3 car, Daniel Ricciardo opens up to carsales and motoring.com.au about some of life’s most pressing issues in the lead up to the Formula 1 Rolex Australian Grand Prix.

motoring: Beach or pool?
DR: “I’m gonna say pool -- only because normally you can drink at a pool. Beach parties are harder to come by… I think of pool, I think of Vegas and pool parties.”

Tomato sauce should be kept in – fridge or pantry?
DR: “Oooooh. It’s a great question! I mean I keep it in the fridge… Is that right, I’m not sure. I say fridge!”

Vegemite or peanut butter?
DR: “That’s too hard! Vegemite. It would be un-Australian if I said otherwise.”

DJ or live music?
DR: “I’ll say live music”

Window or aisle seat?
DR: “Aisle is convenient. I hydrate well so I’m normally weeing a lot… So, aisle -- it’s convenient!”

Last book you read…
DR: “Ooh – good question. Tom DeLonge [the ex-Blink 182 vocalist]. I got to know him relatively well and he’s now doing books and films and he sent me one of his books. Sekret Machines, I think.”

Currently listening to…
DR: “Everything! I love music. I don’t really like pop or something that’s really commercial. For example, Superbowl half-time, Lady Gaga -- not my thing. Anything from some cool hip hop, EDM, trap, punk, rock and hard core.”

Favourite movie…
DR: “I’m gonna throw two in there. Dumb and Dumber. Friday Night Lights.”

If my friends had to describe me in one word….
DR: “Idiot”

My greatest guilty pleasure is…
DR: “Chocolate”

Best fan moment…
DR: “Signing a dog’s collar. Like the dog was there, so she handed the dog to me and I signed his collar.”

My hidden talent is…
DR: “Being good at everything! Yeah… [laughs]”

Last gift you gave someone…
DR: “A pair of headphones”

Your most annoying habit…
DR: “Farting and biting my nails. The farting thing, hey, it is what it is, but biting my nails… I wish I didn’t. I hate it.”

If your life had a theme song, what would it be?
DR: “Sweetness by Jimmy Eat World.”

Your ultimate dinner party guest?
DR: “I’m gonna go with either a comedian or an actor that is great in comedy films. Like a Will Ferrell, Adam Sandler.... Or just some super good looking girl - but not just good looks, they need a personality. Otherwise it’s like having dinner with a door knob.”

Pineapple has no place on a pizza – true/false
DR: “I’m saying false. I think Hawaiian pizza done well. mmmm… It could be good.”

If you could have a superpower, what would it be?
DR: “Travel. We spend half our life at airports or on planes, so if we could save time by being able to travel quicker. That would hands down be the best super power - because I’m already good looking… Umm, I’ve pretty much got everything else I need. I just need to travel quicker.”
