Toyota Australia has revealed pricing and specifications for its updated Corolla hatch range.
The 2020 line-up is headlined by the range-wide inclusion of smartphone mirroring (Apple CarPlay and Android Auto) as well as more safety for top-spec models, and is now priced from $23,335 (up $465 from previous model year) before on-road costs.
Those safety additions are fitted to mid-range SX and flagship ZR variants and include both rear cross traffic alert and low-speed/pedestrian autonomous emergency braking (AEB), which works up to speeds of 15km/h.
Also added to top-spec ZR variants in 2020 is an eight-way power adjustable driver’s seat with lumbar support and the option of a two-tone paint finish with a black roof, pillars and hatch-top spoiler.
Those additions mean price increases across the range, with SX variants now priced from $28,235 (up an extra $1365) and ZR variants from $32,135 (up $1765) compared to outgoing models.
Powertrain options remain the same with a 125kW 2.0-litre petrol engine or a 1.8-litre petrol-electric hybrid available across all three grades.
All variants come with a CVT automatic, aside from the 2.0-litre Ascent Sport, which can also be had with a six-speed manual.
Toyota vice president Sean Hanley said updated Corolla hatch offers the latest in technology.
“When Toyota launched the all-new Corolla hatch last year, our customers appreciated the high level of safety features in the car but the technology is always evolving and Toyota is keen to offer customers more options to further improve the vehicle they drive, whether from a safety, comfort or style perspective,” he said.
Toyota is yet to announce pricing for the 2020 Corolla sedan, which is set to land in Oz by the end of the year.
