Hybrid Kinetic Group (HKG) has released four images of the two cars it plans to unveil later this month at the Beijing motor show.
Teaming up once again with Italian stylist Pininfarina, the Hong Kong-based car-maker will reveal an SUV concept called the K350 and a new design study for a mid-size sedan, named the H500.
Both follow on from the dramatic HK GT that was revealed at the Geneva motor show in March.
Looking far more conventional than the Swiss concept that featured outlandish gullwing doors, the Pininfarina-designed SUV and sedan are both said to come with HKG's advanced micro-turbine range-extender technology that's claimed to offer both vehicles a 1000km range.
HKG claims that thanks to its patented battery technology, the on-board lithium-ion cells can also endure an incredible 50,000 charge cycles before a noticeable drop-off in performance.
Created to rival cars like the BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo, the new HKG has been penned by the famous Italian design house to look more like a four-door coupe than traditional sedan without sacrificing rear passenger space – important for the Chinese market, where owners frequently employ a chauffeur.
The K350 SUV, meanwhile, appears to look more conventional, although the interior pic is rumoured to preview HKG's production-ready wraparound full virtual dash and tablet-style infotainment system.
HKG used the Geneva motor show to announce that it would launch its first vehicle in 2018 and expand its offering to include 12 different vehicles.
Among the models planned are sedans, SUVs, people-movers, GTs, trucks and even utes.
Pininfarina also used the same Swiss show to announce that it too wanted to make the move into car-making.
It's set to leverage its new parent company, Mahindra, for the billion dollars or so needed to transform the supercar stylist and coach-builder into a full-blown car brand.
And it won't be just any car-maker. Pininfarina says it plans to become the world's first electric luxury car brand.
