Details firm for LDV T60 ute and D90 SUV

Competitive pricing headlines T60 ute arrival, D90 SUV here from November

Chinese manufacturer LDV has detailed competitive drive-away pricing for its newly-released T60 light commercial utility range and outlined Australian specifications for its imminent D90 SUV.

Offered in a solitary dual-cab bodystyle, the T60 ute will go on sale from October 1 powered by a 110kW/360Nm 2.8-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine matched to a choice of either a six-speed manual transmission (8.8L/100km ADR Combined) or a six-speed automatic (9.6L/100km ADR Combined). Both are equipped with dual-range four-wheel drive and are offered in two trim grades, the entry-level PRO and high-grade LUXE.

LDV importer The Ateco Group says the competitively priced T60 PRO will be targeted directly at trade and agricultural buyers, and is priced and specified accordingly. ABN holders can drive away in a manual version of the T60 PRO from $28,990, the automatic adding a $4000 premium. Drive-away retail pricing is listed below.

Despite its bargain pricing, the T60 PRO is generously equipped. The model challenges mid-grade variants of more established brands, including as standard 17-inch alloy wheels, adaptive dusk-sensing headlights, air-conditioning, blind-spot monitoring, cloth upholstery, cruise control, heated door mirrors, hill-descent control, rain-sensing wipers, roof rails, side steps, six airbags, tub liner and tyre-pressure monitoring.

It’s also equipped with a six-speaker, 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system which supports Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Bluetooth connectivity and a standard reversing camera.

The T60 LUXE, meanwhile, aims to attract recreational and family buyers, and for ABN holders is priced from $32,990 drive-away. Drive-away retail pricing is listed below.

In addition to those features listed for the T60 PRO, the T60 LUXE adds climate control, electrically-adjustable leather seats, electrochromatic (self-dimming) rear-view mirror, folding and heated door mirrors, keyless entry, leather-bound steering wheel, and rear differential lock.

Supporting its recreational focus, the T60 LUXE offers comfort-tuned suspension in place of the heavy-duty tune found under the T60 PRO. And the LUXE scores a chrome sports bar in lieu of the PRO’s load-oriented headboard.

All LDV T60 variants are backed by a five-year/130,000km warranty which includes a loan car program and 24/7 roadside assistance scheme. And all offer a 3000kg braked tow rating, with payload ratings of 815-1025kg, depending on variant.

“The LDV T60 will transform the position of LDV in the Australian market, not just in terms of sales volume but also geographically,” explained Mr Dinesh Chinnappa, LDV Automotive general manager.

“As a van brand, our business was largely limited to metropolitan areas, where the vast majority of vans are sold and used, and while we have secured five per cent of the van sector since our launch in 2015, this sector is comparatively small.

“With the LDV T60 we are moving into the fastest growing sector in the market and one that covers the whole country, as well as a sector that now routinely provides the number one best-selling vehicle in Australia.

“If we are able to match that market share within the Ute sector, LDV’s van sales will be dwarfed by the T60 and LDV will be on the road right across Australia,” he concluded.

Meanwhile, the D90 SUV range is expected in Australian showrooms from November 15.

Like its light-commercial counterpart, the family-sized D90 will offer a generous amenity and equipment list. The seven-seat range spans three trim grades and is available in two (10.2L/100km ADR Combined) and all-wheel (10.9L/100km ADR Combined) drive chassis configurations. Under the bonnet is a 165kW/350Nm 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine mated exclusively to a six-speed automatic transmission. Braked towing capacity is rated at 2000kg.

The D90 will be available with equipment including a 360-degree camera system, active headlights, adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, blind-spot and lane-wander warning, forward collision warning, keyless entry and start, hands-free tailgate operation, heated, ventilated and massage seats, idle-stop, puddle lamps, six airbags, sunroof (standard), traffic sign recognition and terrain select four-wheel drive.

Inside, the D90’s infotainment system comprises both a 12.0-inch and 8.0-inch display, front and rear USB ports, and 220-volt power outlets.

“LDV clearly know that while the SUV sector is now the dominant vehicle type around the world, it is also highly competitive, so LDV have has drawn on the expertise, knowledge and technology of China’s largest vehicle maker, its parent SAIC, to produce the D90,” clarified Mr Chinnappa.

“This means that the LDV D90 not only has everything expected of an SUV, it also has a range of features that might not be expected. This means that the D90 provides an even stronger value for money equation, given its ability, features and technology.

“The SUV sector may be hard fought, but we believe that the D90 will be a strong and competitive addition to the sector and will be another top seller for LDV in Australia,” he concluded.

Pricing and full local specifications for the D90 range will be announced closer to the model’s Australian launch.
