Jeep 80th Anniversary Special Editions released

Unique extras for commemorative Jeep Cherokee, Grand Cherokee and Wrangler limited-editions

Jeep is celebrating its 80th birthday with the Australian release of three added-value special-editions based on the Jeep Cherokee, Jeep Grand Cherokee and Jeep Wrangler.

Arriving in showrooms this month, all three special-editions are based on the top petrol V6-powered four-wheel drive variant of each model, and fitted with a host of unique extras for price premiums starting at around $2000.

All three vehicles come with exclusive 80th Anniversary badging featuring the side profile of the original open-air Willys Jeep, plus Granite Crystal exterior accents and unique alloy wheels.

Inside, there’s black leather upholstery with Light Tungsten accent stitching and an 80th Anniversary seat tag for the front seats and, for the Cherokee and Grand Cherokee, luxury Berber floor mats with 80th Anniversary tags and an 80th Anniversary instrument panel applique.

The same commemorative plaque appears on the console of the Wrangler Unlimited, which also scores an 80th Anniversary swing gate plaque, paying homage to the original Jeep Willys.

The Jeep 80th Anniversary range comes standard with an 8.4-inch Uconnect touch-screen infotainment screen, which greets occupants with ‘Since 1941’ upon engine start-up.

At the same time, Jeep Australia has launched Jeep Wave, a new umbrella term for its improved aftersales care program including a five-year/100,000km factory warranty, capped-price servicing for new vehicles and lifetime roadside assistance when you service with Jeep.

In detail, the 2021 Jeep Cherokee 80th Anniversary Special Edition is limited to 80 units and priced at $51,941 plus on-road costs – $1991 more than the Jeep Cherokee Limited 3.2-litre AWD auto on which it’s based ($49,950 plus ORCs).

It is available in Bright White, Granite Crystal and Diamond Black exterior colours and premium paint costs $695 more.

In addition to those extras listed above, the Cherokee special adds Light Tungsten and Anodized Gun Metal interior accents, a dual-pane panoramic sunroof and a Granite Crystal finish for the 18-inch wheels, rear fascia applique, grille surround, roof rails, exterior mirrors and exterior accents.
