Jeep has customised five Wranglers for the annual Moab Easter Jeep Safari weekend held in Moab, Utah in the US.
Celebrating the 52nd edition of the festival, this year the US SUV brand is celebrating the launch of the all-new Wrangler by customising it for its enthusiastic fan base.
The first, called Jeep 4SPEED, has been created to be a stripped, lightweight, short wheelbase version of the Wrangler. The weight-saving extends to a carbon-fibre bonnet and a peppermint-blue coloured roll cage.
The next, the Jeep Sandstorm is inspired by Baja 1000 desert racers, that's why it features trick, race suspension and race truck-inspired styling, but the real highlight of the new Jeep concept is the muscular 6.4-litre V8 lurking under the bonnet.
The rest of the three Wranglers are, alas, more conventional and are more a rolling advertisement for the car maker's Mopar Jeep accessories for the rugged offroader.
The Wrangler Nacho, J-Wagon and Jeepster showing customers how they can customise their Jeep to their heart's content - with the latter reviving a two-tone red and white finish used on the original 1966 Jeepster.
The two other non-Wrangler concepts are based on the firm's current Renegade and the Wagoneer the US SUV make made in 1965.
The Renegade B-ute is said to show off the wide range of personalised parts available for the small SUV, the classic Wagoneer Roadtrip, on the other hand, gets the full retro-mod treatment.
Featuring wheelbase stretched by 127mm, the '65 Jeep gets a wider front and rear track, flared arches, and restyled front and rear bumpers.
Both the suspension and brakes are all-new while, under the bonnet, a 5.7-litre V8 is combined with a more modern four-speed automatic.
Sadly, it's unlikely Jeep has any plans to drop a large V8 in its Wrangler.
