John Goss prototype Bathurst Falcon to be auctioned

Iconic Prototype Group C Ford XB Falcon Hardtop to go under the hammer

Dual Bathurst and Grand Prix winner John Goss will be auctioning his 1975 Prototype Group C Ford XB Falcon Hardtop at Lloyds Auctions this Saturday.

The car was developed by Goss after reviving a homologation program initiated and then abandoned by Ford Australia. Based on the XB Goss Special it's a composite of wish-list parts Goss wanted for the 1975-76 season after his Bathurst win in 1974.

"I built with my own hands most of the cars I ever raced," explained Goss. "It resonates with me because I'll always remember: there's a little bit of Bathurst in every Ford Falcon."

Built over three years under Goss' direction, and with input from former senior Goss mechanics, the period correct race car is finished in 1975 Bathurst livery and is claimed to be as "close to perfection as you'll find anywhere".

Ready to race, the Falcon coupe will be handed over to the successful bidder by John Goss himself. He will be present at the Lloyd's Auction in Carrara this Saturday 9 December. More details and online bidding information can be found at www.lloydsonline.com.au
