Koenigsegg has released a new video claimed to prove its Agera RS is not only quicker than a Bugatti Chiron but faster from standstill to 400km/h and then back again.
Thanks to a zero-400km/h time of just 26.88 seconds, the Swedish hypercar maker says its Agera RS is more than 5.7sec quicker than a Chiron on that score.
More remarkable still, the Agera RS manages to maintain the performance gap from zero-400km/h-zero.
Taking an incredible 36.44 seconds to accelerate from zero to 100km/h and brake back to zero again, in that test, the Agera RS remains 5.5 seconds faster than the Bugatti.
In case you're wondering, the journey from 400km/h to stationary took just 9.56 seconds and covered a distance of 483 metres.
Filmed at an airfield in Denmark on October 1, the driver who carried out the performance test was Koenigsegg test driver, Niklas Lilja.
According to Koenigsegg, the only modifications to the Agera RS were an adjustment to the angle of the rear wing and the addition of the option removable roll cage which actually adds weight.
Despite plenty of space to hit 403km/h, the conditions weren't ideal.
In the video, the slick concrete runway sees wheel spin in the first three gears up to an astonishing 183km/h as Lilja struggles to deploy the Agera RS' full 1000kW/1371Nm.
Allegedly, the performance test isn't a case of one-upmanship on Koenigsegg's part; rather it was commissioned by a North American owner keen to "verify the car's performance in comparison to other manufacturers".
Sounds like a Superyacht owner in Monaco ensuring his hull is at least a few centimeters longer than the yacht moored adjacent - a nice problem to have.
That said, Koenigsegg is now planning a similar performance test for its Regara which it describes as "perfectly suited to this task".
